box 24 a has started printing the date as mm dd yyyy on all new 2012 patients. If they were patients before 2012 entering the date correctly. it is set to mm dd yy

Sounds like the date formats were changed.

Make sure you are on the latest release of EZClaim <Support/Help><Check for updates>.
Follow the instruction on the screen.
